What is Cannabis or Marijuana?

Cannabis is somewhat of a greenish substance with orange hairs within, looks like shredded flowers of some sort.



Way before the 1960s, a lot of American citizens never heard of marijuana, now-a-days it is a highly used drug that is illegal. Most of the time the drug is smoked as a cigarette(called a “joint”) or in a bong, also weed is known to be smoked as a blunt which is in a cigar wrap. Joints and blunts are also sometimes dipped in PCP they are known as “happy sticks,” “wicky sticks,” “love boat” or “tical.” Some users mix marijuana into foods or use it to brew tea.

As we all know there are slang terms for drugs, they can vary from one part of the country to another. Drug slang words may even differ across sections of a large city. Terms from years ago, such as pot, herb, grass, weed, Mary Jane and reefer are still used. You might also hear the names Aunt Mary, skunk, boom, gangster, kif, or ganja. There are also street names for different strains or “brands” of marijuana, such as Bubble Gum, Northern Lights, Fruity Juice, Afghani No.1, and a number of Skunk varieties. One book of American slang lists more than 200 terms for various kinds of marijuana.

Delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol / (THC)

Whatever the name is all kinds of cannabis is a mind altering drug a (psychoactive) drugs; they all contain delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), the main active chemical in marijuana. They contain more than just “THC” there are more than 400 chemicals in marijuana.

Each strain of marijuana or cannabis contains a different potency of THC. The statistic of THC in each strain of marijuana was from test samples confiscated by law enforcement agencies.

7% is the average amount of THC in the ordinary strain of marijuana .

Hashish (the sticky resin from female plant flowers) had an average of 10 percent THC, ranging from 1 percent to 26 percent.
